For Model Providers
ICGEM enables model authors to publish their models on the website. Additionally, you can obtain a DOI from GFZ Data Services. This makes gravity models fully credible and reusable forms of scientific effort.
Step 1: Provide the model file in a unified data format.
Step 2: Provide the model metadata and specify essential properties.
Step 3: Publish the model with a DOI.
Just leave the „DOI“ field in the metadata editor empty, and we will register a DOI for you. The DOI for your model will be minted via GFZ Data Services seamlessly in the background.
Please provide the DOI when filling out the metadata editor. We cannot provide a second DOI for the same model. Your model will be displayed on the website alongside the DOI you have provided.
Please be aware that it is a best practice to obtain separate DOIs for your article and the model itself. Models are treated as data publications, and the metadata details are different between a text publication and a data publication. The original article will still be visible. Please provide the DOI of the article in the references section with a relationship type of „supplement to“ — this means the model is a supplement to the article. For the most complete information about the model, users will be redirected to the article.
